Congregate Meals
This Nutrition Program is designed for persons 60 years of age and older and their spouses, regardless of age. A hot meal providing 1/3 of the Recommended Daily Dietary Allowance is served five days a week. The purpose of the Congregate Program is to promote the health and well-being of older age people by providing a meal and opportunities for health education, social interaction, and recreation. Meals are served at 11:30am.
Delivered Meals
The Home Delivered Meals Program is designed to improve the health of impaired older persons by providing a nutritionally balanced meal served in their homes by volunteers. This meal, served by a smiling face, can mean many different things to the “shuts-ins” receiving them. This may be their only meal of the day and the only face they may see. If you have someone in your community that you think could use our services or if your church, business or organization would like a presentation about our program, please call our office today!
Meals on Wheels
Are you looking for a fun, easy and rewarding way to serve others? Home Delivered Meals Volunteers are the ONLY reason we are able to serve our Perquimans County home bound seniors with meals throughout the week. Volunteers play a key role in providing seniors, not only with a meal, but offer much needed socialization and smiles! Flexible scheduling is available to meet our volunteers’ needs.
